Danielle Poto joined the BSU track & field coaching staff as the distance coach prior the 2018-2019 season and joined the cross country staff prior to the 2019-2020 campaign.
Danielle, who hails from North Andover, Massachusetts, is a 2016 graduate of Bridgewater State where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. Since graduation, She has been teaching Spanish at Freetown-Lakeville Middle School where she instructs grades 6-8.
Coach Poto also serves as a coach for Freetown-Lakeville Middle School boys and girls cross country and indoor track teams, and the school’s boys and girls running club.
During her undergraduate career at BSU, Danielle was a four-year member of the Bears’ women’s track & field and cross country teams. She captained both the indoor and outdoor squads during her junior and senior seasons. A distance runner, Daniele captured six MASCAC championships during her career and placed 11th in the 10,000-Meter-Run at the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
In the classroom, Danielle was named to the MASCAC All-Academic Team eleven times as well as the Bridgewater State Dean's List in each of her eight semesters on campus. She was selected to the CoSIDA Capital One NCAA Division III Academic All-District Team in cross country and track & field in 2014 and 2016 and was named to the MASCAC All-Sportsmanship Team in the fall of 2015. At the conclusion of both her junior and senior years, Danielle was honored with the BSU Adrian Tinsley Scholar Athlete of The Year Award.
Coach Poto currently resides in Raynham, Massachusetts.
