Robitaille Named MASCAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week, Bridgewater State University junior Carrie Robitaille has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

A native of Ludlow, Massachusetts, Robitaille placed sixth in the pentathlon at the ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend.  She posted her second highest score of the season with 2,876 points.

In the pentathlon events, Robitaille placed third in the 800-meter run (2:32.44), fourth in the long jump (16'1.5") and the high jump (4'11"), sixth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.14 seconds) and 11th in the shot put (21'10.25").

The previous weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Championships, Robitaille broke her own BSU pentathlon mark with a score of 2,939 points to earn All-NEICAAA honors.
