BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior Molly Rouillard has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
A native of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Rouillard was the top Division III runner in the 200-meter dash at the season-opening Northeastern Husky Spring Open as she crossed the finish line sixth with a time of 27.58 seconds.
Rouillard has been no stranger to MASCAC awards during the 2010-2011 academic year. During the fall cross country season she was named both the conference runner and rookie of the year and captured MASCAC Runner of the Week honors six times. This past indoor season, Rouillard was the conference champion in the 400-meter dash, the 3,000-meter run and the 4 x 400-meter relay, and was a three-time MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week.
Rouillard broke two individual school marks during the indoor season and was part of three relay record-setting performances. She set new BSU standards in the 400 (58.20 seconds) and the mile (5:15.79), and helped set the 4 x 400 (4:01.31), 4 x 800 (9:42.75) and distance medley (12:58.24) relay records.
The Bridgewater State outdoor track and field teams will host the BSU Bears Invitational on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM.
