BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Molly Rouillard has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. Rouillard shares this week's honor along with Westfield State freshman Targie Gervais.
Rouillard provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 400-meter dash to lead the Bears at the ECAC Division III Championships on Saturday. The Dartmouth, Massachusetts native posted a BSU school record time of 58.20 seconds to finish in fifth place in the event. She broke her own mark of 59.05 seconds set earlier this season.
Rouillard also ran a leg on the Bears' school record-setting 4 x 800-meter relay squad which placed ninth with a time of 9:42.75. Joining her on the relay were classmates Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Melissa Harris (Uxbridge, Mass.) and senior Jessica Eidinger (Sutton, Mass.). The foursome broke the BSU 2010 indoor mark of 10:04.45.
This marks the third time this season that Rouillard has been named MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week. She earned the honor back on January 24th for her performance at the Wesleyan Invitational and on February 14th for her performance at the MASCAC and Alliance meet.
In the fall, Rouillard was a six-time MASCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week and captured both conference runner and rookie of the year accolades.
