Carrie Robitaille Named MASCAC Indoor Field Co-Athlete of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior Carrie Robitaille has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Indoor Field Co-Athlete of the Week.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior Carrie Robitaille has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Indoor Field Co-Athlete of the Week. Robitaille shares this week’s honor along with Worcester State junior Mara Kralian.
A native of Ludlow, Massachusetts, Robitaille earned All-New England accolades with a seventh place school record finish in the pentathlon at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships at Boston University over the weekend. She posted a score of 2,939 points to eclipse her own mark of 2,851 set the previous weekend at the New England Division III Championships.
In the pentathlon events, Robitaille placed second in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 8.75 inches as she broke her own school record of 16 feet, seven inches set earlier this season. Robitaille also finished fifth in the 800-meter run (2:32.60), seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (9.85 seconds) and high jump (4'10.25") and 11th in the shot put (23'10.25").
Robitaille will compete again in the pentathlon this coming weekend at the ECAC Division III Championships as she takes aim at the NCAA provisional qualifying score of 3,000 points. The ECAC championship meet will take place at the New York City Armory.
