Williamson, Eramo Earn Little East Women's Tennis Weekly Honors

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State sophomore Jenna Williamson has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Women’s Tennis Player of the Week while freshman Rachael Eramo earned LEC Rookie of the Week honors.

Williamson led Bridgewater to a 9-0 season-opening victory over Little East foe Plymouth State in the Bears' only match of the week. The product of Ludlow, Massachusetts posted a 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 victory over the Panthers’ top-ranked singles player. She also teamed with junior Ashley Pereira (Assonet, Mass.) to produce an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.

A freshman from Rowley, Massachusetts, Eramo earned a straight-set (6-1, 6-3) victory at No. 5 singles in the win over Plymouth. She also combined with classmate Melissa Flynn (Stoneham, Mass.) for an 8-3 victory at third-flight doubles.

Through three matches this season, both Williamson and Eramo are unbeaten in singles in doubles play.

As a rookie in 2010, Williamson posted a 14-1 record in singles play as well as a 13-6 mark in doubles as she helped the Bears capture the Little East Tournament championship and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament.  Williamson was voted to the All-Little East Conference First Team for her outstanding performance.
