Alison Joseph Named Little East Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State university freshman Alison Joseph has been selected as the Little East Conference Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week.

Joseph remained unbeaten on the season as she increased her winning streak to eight matches with a pair of victories in a 1-1 week for the Bears.  The Dartmouth, Massachusetts native posted a straight set (6-2, 6-0) win over her opponent from Western Connecticut State, and a three set (6-4, 3-6, 6-4) triumph versus UMass Dartmouth.

Joseph is 8-0 competing exclusively out of the sixth singles flight since cracking the Bears' starting lineup on September 14th. Six of those eight wins have come against Little East opponents.

The Bridgewater State women's tennis team is currently 10-1 on the season and 6-1 in conference play.  The Bears wrap up the regular season this week as they travel to Curry College on Wednesday (3:00 PM) for a non-conference match with the Colonels, followed by a key Little East showdown at Salem State on Saturday at 1.
