Christina Minich Named Little East Conference Rookie Diver of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University freshman Christina Minich has been selected as the Little East Conference Rookie Diver of the Week.

Minich posted personal best scores on the one and three meter boards en route to winning both events in the Bears’ 169-104 victory over Gordon College last week.  The Wellesley, Massachusetts native registered a score of 204.82 points on the short plank and 191.10 on the three-meter.

So far this season, Minich has captured first place in the one-meter diving competition four times and posted top finishes on the three-meter board three times. She also has a pair of second place showings and four third.

Minich’s previous high scores were 185.80 points on the one-meter board against Regis College, and 182.20 points on the three-meter at the Little East Championships.

The BSU women’s swimming and diving team heads into the semester break with a 3-5 dual meet record.  The Bears are off until January 11th when they travel to Elms College for a four o'clock meet with the Blazers.

The Little East honor marks the second of the season for Minich as she was selected as the LEC Diver of the Week back on November 21st.
