Rechtiene Leads Women's Swimming on Day One of NEISDA Championships

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swim team is in 14th place (92 pts.) after day one action of the 2012 NEISDA Division II/III Championships held at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center.

Freshman Sarah Rechtiene (Southbury, Conn.) grabbed 12th place in the 50 breaststroke (33.42 seconds) while sophomore Chelsea Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) finished 14th in the 500 freestyle (5:31.55).

The Bears' 400 medley relay team of Rechtiene, junior Rhiannon White (Falmouth, Mass.) and sophomores Ashley Dunican (Bennington, Vt.) and Ariel Gillis (Blackstone, Mass.)  notched a 14th place showing (4:29.33).  Rechtiene, Gillis, senior Renee Marcos (Lakeville, Mass.) and sophomore Nelia Borden (Fall River, Mass.) added a 14th place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:48.74).
