WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swim team finished in 17th place out of a 21-team field at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships held at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, Vermont.
The Bears tallied 157.5 points during the three-day event. Bentley University won the team title with 1,467 points followed by Keene State College (1,142.5) and Assumption College (926).
Sophomore Loren Phinney (Holbrook, MA) and Rhiannon White (Falmouth, MA) were the Bears' only two swimmers competing in Sunday evening's finals. Phinney placed eighth in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 19:10.58, while White touched the wall in 11th place in the 200 butterfly (2:28.40).
