WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's swimming and diving team dropped a 150-95 decision to Division II Assumption College on Friday evening in the Bears' season-opening meet.

Sophomore Loren Phinney (Holbrook, Mass.) posted the top performance for Bridgewater State as she placed second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.03 seconds.  Phinney also placed third in the 1000-freestyle (11:31.99).

The Bears will travel to Regis College next Friday night for a six o'clock meet with the Pride.
