Jolly, Becker Named to CSC Academic All-District® One Softball Team
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University graduate outfielder Janet Jolly and sophomore outfielder Victoria Becker have been selected to the 2024 Academic All-District® One Division III Softball Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University graduate outfielder Janet Jolly and sophomore outfielder Victoria Becker have been selected to the 2024 Academic All-District® One Division III Softball Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Jolly and Becker are two of 11 student-athletes from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to garner the honor.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director. A student-athlete must have also played in at least 50% of her team's contests for the 2024 season.
A native of Raynham, Massachusetts, Jolly graduated magna cum laude with a degree in mathematics and secondary. She recorded an outstanding 3.74 grade point average as an undergrad student. Jolly just completed her first semesters as a graduate student and has a 3.90 grad school GPA.
Jolly, who is making her second straight appearance on the Academic All-District® One Division III Softball Team, batted .305 (112-367) in 143 games over four seasons in a BSU uniform with three home runs, 19 doubles, nine triples, 17 walks, 70 runs and 62 RBI. She also stole 31 bases, posted a .431 slugging percentage as well as a .344 on base percentage, and recorded ten outfield assists.
Jolly earned All-MASCAC Second Team honors in 2023.
Becker, who hails from Abington, Massachusetts, boasts an impressive 3.84 GPA and is majoring in health science.
In 66 games over her first two seasons with the Bears, Becker is batting .314 (37-118) with a pair of home runs, ten doubles, two triples, ten walks, 13 stolen bases, 26 runs and 14 RBI. She also sports a .483 slugging percentage as well as a .364 on base percentage and has three outfield assists.
Becker garnered All-MASCAC Second Team accolades in 2024.
Jolly and Becker helped the BSU softball team post a 19-20 record in 2024 with a 6-8 conference mark.
Joining Jolly and Becker on the 2024 CSC Academic All-District® One Division III Softball Team from the MASCAC are Gwendolyn Carpenter from Framingham State; MCLA's Kristie Zator, Maggie Closinski and Justina Pardi; and Westfield State's Sarah Bingham, Hannah Wodecki, Christina Ciampa, Stephanie Scoville and Katherine Canty.
