Jesse Gotlib Named Little East Men's Tennis Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University sophomore Jesse Gotlib has been selected as the Little East Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.

Gotlib helped lead Bridgewater State to a pair of Little East Conference wins over Western Connecticut State University and Rhode Island College this past week. The Dartmouth, Massachusetts native won both of his matches at number four singles in straight sets, posting a 6-2, 6-1 decision over his opponent from Western Connecticut as well as a 7-5, 6-0 triumph against RIC.  Gotlib also teamed with freshman Sean Bleau (North Dighton, Mass.) to record a pair of doubles victories.

Through the Bears’ first seven matches this season, Gotlib is 6-1 in singles play with a 2-1 record at the fourth flight and a 4-0 mark at number five.  The Bears’ doubles pairing of Gotlib and Bleau is 3-1 competing out of both the second and third flights.

Bridgewater State is currently 6-1 on the season and tied for first along with UMass Dartmouth in the Little East standings with a 2-0 conference record.

Over his first two seasons at Bridgewater State, Gotlib has produced a 15-7 singles record as well as 10-9 mark in doubles play.  The player of the week honor is the first of his career.
