Brian Ferris began his second stint with the Bridgewater State men's basketball coaching staff in the fall of 2022 as he also served as an assistant from 2005 to 2015.
Brian is a 1997 graduate of Curry College where he played two years of basketball under Jerry Morelli and Pat Skerry. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and History with a minor in English from Curry.
Brian was a Second Team All-Conference Selection and was the Curry College and the Commonwealth Coast Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year in 1997. He had the opportunity to play for Coach Farroba in Europe in the summer of 1997 with the New England All-Stars.
Brian received his Associate degree in Sciences at Massasoit Community College in 1995 where he played two years under Coach Mark Ottavianelli and was an All-New England Selection and Colonial States Athletic Conference All Star in 1995. Most recently, He earned his Masters in General Educational Studies from Fitchburg State College in 2001. Brian is a 1992 graduate of Coyle and Cassidy High School in Taunton.
Coach Ferris began his coaching career during the 1997-98 season at Curry College under Pat Skerry where he spent one season. In 2002-03, he was the Head Freshman Coach and Varsity Assistant at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School. Most recently, he was the Head Coach at the Raynham Middle School for two seasons before joining the staff at BSU.
Brian is a history teacher in the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District and is currently teaching US History I and II at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School here in Bridgewater, Mass. He is also a certified High School Basketball Referee on Board 30 out of Taunton, Mass., and is a cerfified official for both field hockey and lacrosse. Brian currently resides in Taunton.
