Sean Riley to Play in NEIBA College All-Star Game

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Senior second baseman Sean Riley will represent the Bridgewater State University Bears at the 39th Annual New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Joe Walsh College All-Star Game on Monday, June 3rd at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Massachusetts.

LeLacheur Park is home to the New York-Penn League Lowell Spinners, the Class A Short Season affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.  The gates will open at 6:00 PM and tickets will cost $5.  The game is expected to start at approximately 7:00 PM with a pre-game awards ceremony at 6:30.

A native of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, Riley batted .383 (49-128) in 34 games for the Bears in 2013 with five home runs and 30 runs batted in.  He also recorded nine doubles, a pair of triples, 26 runs scored and eight stolen bases.

Riley led the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in home runs, total bases (77) and slugging percentage (.602), and ranked second in the conference in hits and RBI.  He was also fourth in the circuit in both doubles and batting average and sixth in on base percentage (.452).

In just two seasons with the Bears, Riley finished his career with a .378 batting average (11-294) to go along with 13 home runs, 34 doubles, eight triples, 17 stolen bases, 78 runs scored and 70 RBI.  He ranks second in program history in both doubles and extra base hits (55).

Division III Senior All-Stars, will face the University Division squad consisting of Division I All-New England First and Second Team players.  The University Division team leads the all-time series, 23-12-2, after posting a 5-3 victory in last year's contest.  The 1981 game was played East vs. West.

The last representative for Bridgewater State at the College All-Star Game was pitcher Corey Batista in 2012.  Riley is the fourth second baseman in BSU baseball history to play in the game joining Jim Martorana (1994), Mike McMahon (1997) and  (2009).
