Cathy Davis has been the Director of Recreation since April 2008.  She brings to Bridgewater State many successful years of experience in various recreational settings: college intramural programs, fitness centers, outdoor adventure, college instuctor and wellness programming.  One of her passions is to enhance programs through  clubs, camps and recreation programs.  

In November 2011 Cathy introduced to Bridgewater State University, a collaborative event, BSU Turkey Trot  (Athletics Department and Community Services Department).   This successful program will be help annually to feed homeless families in the Old Colony Y Family Life Center.

Currently Cathy teaches classes at BSU:  Introduction to Recreation, Theory and Practice of Adventure Education, and Initiatives Games. 

She has been active in the National Intramural Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA).  In 2005 Cathy presented at the Regional NIRSA Conference "Professional and Personal Excellence for Student Staff".   2006 she cohosted the Massachusetts NIRSA Conference in Worcester, MA.  2010 the BSU Campus Recreation collaborated to host the Massachusetts NIRSA on our campus.  March 2012,  Cathy co-presented at the National NIRSA Conference, in Tampa, FL. "Assessing Campus Recreation Operations - using Rubrics".    

She received her Masters degree from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) in Recreational Sports Management  in 2005 and her Bachelor Degree from Butler University (Indianapolis, IN) in Physical Education and Biology 1986.
