Naomi Cass Named MASCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Naomi Cass has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Cass finished 69th out of a very stong field of 285 runners at the Connecticut College Invitational held this past weekend at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut. The Westport, Massachusetts product covered the six-kilometer course in a time of 22:35.70.

The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the eighth of Cass' career as she also earned the honor five times during the 2023 campaign.

Following a weekend off, the BSU women's cross country team will compete at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Fitchburg State University and held at the Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster, Massachusetts.
