AMHERST, Mass. -- Members of the Bridgewater State University women's outdoor track & field team competed on a rainy Saturday at the Amherst Spring Fling on the campus of Amherst College.
Freshman Bella Grover (Warren, Mass.) made a favorable early impression in the second women's outdoor track & field meet of her BSU career.
Grover won the high jump with a leap of five feet, 1.75 inches (1.57m) and was third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.26.
Graduate student Juliana Patrone (Wilmington, Mass.) was sixth in the high jump with a leap of four feet, 9.75 inches (1.47m).
Senior Natalie Kalgren (Ayer, Mass.) was third in the javelin for BSU with a throw of 83 feet, 1 inch.
BSU junior Naomi Cass (Westport, Mass.) was the sixth-place finisher in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:52.42.
In the 400-meter race, graduate student Jailene Escalera (Rockland, Mass.) was sixth in 1:01.44.
Next on the schedule is the BSU Bears Invitational, which takes place Friday beginning at 10 a.m.
