BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Molly Rouillard has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
A native of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Rouillard garnered All-ECAC honors in both the 10,000-meter run and the 4 x 800-meter relay last week at the ECAC Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by RPI.
Rouillard crossed the finish line third in the 10,000 with a time of 37:08.41. She also teamed with Megan Cullinane (Lunenburg, Mass.), Melissa Harris (Uxbridge, Mass.) and Sarah Lagasse (Rehoboth, Mass.) to place fourth in the 4 x 800 with a time of 9:35.98 as the group shattered the previous BSU outdoor standard of 4:00.17 set in 2011.
Rouillard will compete in the 10,000 at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps later this week. She is seeded 21st in the event which is scheduled for Thursday, May 24th at 9:20 PM Eastern Standard Time.
Rouillard recorded her national qualifying and school record-setting time of 36:19.51 in the 10,000 at the New England Division III Championships on May 3rd. She eclipsed the Bears' 30-year old mark of 36:21.98 set by Debbie Mueller in 1982.
