All-MASCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Seven individuals and one relay team earned All-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference honors in men's indoor track & field for Bridgewater State University.

The Bears won their sixth consecutive MASCAC championship at a meet held last Sunday night at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.

First-place finishers receive All-MASCAC honors.

Graduate students Kevin McBirney (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and Chigozie Adigwe (Lowell, Mass.) were among the BSU first-team representatives.

McBirney was first in the 600-meter race with a time of 1:21.49.

That broke his own school record of 1:21.68, set earlier this season, and the MASCAC meet record.

Adigwe won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.38 seconds.

Also finishing first was junior Matthew Mooney (Douglas, Mass.) with a time of 22.52 seconds in the 200 and sophomore Joshua Cardichon (Brockton, Mass.) in the 400 with a time of 51.71.

Junior Brian Vale (Assonet, Mass.) won the 800 in 2:01.27 while junior Aydan Fournier (Assonet, Mass.) took first in the 1,000 in 2:42.01 and senior Ryker King (Wareham, Mass.) won the pole vault (13 feet, 1 1/2 inches).

The 4x400 relay team of senior Chris Beaulieu (Monson, Mass.), senior Nicholas Grace (Acushnet, Mass.), McBirney and freshman Sean Venator (Manchester, N.H.) won their race in 3:28.48.

Members of the BSU team will take part in the USATF-New England Championships by Harvard University Sunday at 9:30 p.m. and the Saucony Battle for Boston at Boston University at 6 p.m. on Sunday

The BSU men's indoor track & field team captured the program's sixth straight MASCAC championship and seventh in team history. The Bears also won indoor conference championships in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2024. The MASCAC Indoor Track & Field Championship meet was not contested in 2021, 2023 and 2025.
