Five Bears Named to CSC Academic All-District® One Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Five members of the Bridgewater State University track & field and cross country programs have been selected to the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® One Division III Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Five Bridgewater State University student-athletes have been selected to the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® One Division III Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Earning the honor for the Bears are graduate student Landon Crowley, seniors Kyle Ackroyd and Nicholas Grace; and juniors Aydan Fournier and Matthew Mooney.
Ackroyd is making his third straight appearance on the Academic All-District® One Division III Track & Field/Cross Country Team while Grace and Mooney are two-time recipients of the honor.
The five Bears are among nine student-athletes from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to garner the honor.
The 2025-2026 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletics realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field/cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. A student-athlete must either place in the top 50 of an NCAA cross country regional competition or rank in the top 50 regionally in an individual indoor or outdoor track & field event.
Crowley, who resides in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, boasts a perfect 4.00 GPA after his first year of graduate school in the health promotion master's program. Crowley earned his undergraduate degree from Merrimack College in 2025 and posted a 3.80 undergrad GPA.
Crowley ranked ninth in the East Region in the 60-meter dash (6.99) and 19th in the 200-meter dash (22.29) during the 2025-2026 indoor season, and 25th in the 100-meter dash (10.98) and 28th in the 200-meter dash (22.29) during the 2026 outdoor campaign. He also ran a leg on the Bears' 12th-ranked outdoor 4x100-meter relay team (42.58).
A native of Charlestown, Rhode Island, Ackroyd graduated summa cum laude with a degree in health science as he recorded a cumulative 3.87 GPA. He ranked 16th in the East Region in the 10,000-meter run (31:32.14) and 45th in the 5,000-meter run (15:30.18) during the outdoor spring season as well as 15th in the East Region in the 5,000-meter run (14:53.59) and 25th in the 3,000-meter run (8:39.68) this past winter.
Last fall, Ackroyd earned USTFCCCA All-East Region honors with a 28th place finish at the NCAA Division III East Region Championships held at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Contoocook, New Hampshipre.
Grace also graduated summa cum laude last month with a degree in mathematics and secondary education. The Acushnet, Massachustts product recorded an impressive 3.992 cumulative GPA.
Grace finished 33rd in the East Region in the triple jump (41'6.5"/12.66m) and ran a leg on the Bears' seventh-ranked 4x400-meter relay squad (3:19.95) during the 2026 outdoor season. He was also 41st in the East Region in the 400-meter dash (50.94), 43rd in the triple jump (39'10.5"/12.15m) and competed on the ninth-ranked 4x400-meter relay team (3:23.59) over the course of the 2025-2026 indoor campaign.
Fournier, who calls Assonet, Massachusetts home, check in with a 3.783 GPA over his first six semesters at Bridgewater State and is majoring in health science.
Fournier ranked tenth in the East Region in the 800-meter run (1:52.86), 43rd in the 400-meter dash (51.09) and ran a leg on the Bears' seventh-ranked 4x400-meter relay squad (3:19.95) during the outdoor campaign. He was also 12th in the East Region in the 800 (1:55.44) and 31st in the mile (4:23.10) during the winter indoor season.
Mooney sports a splendid 3.67 GPA over his first six semesters and is majoring in physical education.
The Douglas, Massachusetts native finished eighth in the East Region in the 100-meter dash (10.72), 12th in the 200-meter dash (22.05) and competed on the Bears' 12th-ranked 4x100-meter relay squad (42.58) during the spring outdoor season.
Mooney also wrapped up the 2025-2025 indoor campaign ranked ninth in the East Region in the 200-meter dash (22.52) and 17th in the 60-meter dash (7.06).
Crowley, Ackroyd, Grace, Fournier and Mooney helped the BSU men's track & field team capture its eighth straight MASCAC outdoor title (11th overall) and sixth consecutive MASCAC indoor crown (eighth overall).
Ackroyd and Fournier helped the BSU men's cross country team capture the MASCAC title for the second straight season and tenth time in program history.
