Stalters, Barinelli, Adigwe Lead Men's Track & Field at NEICAAA Championships
DEDHAM, Mass. – Senior Corey Stalters (Norton, Mass.) and junior Thomas Barinelli (Tewksbury, Mass.) earned All-NEICAAA honors to lead the Bridgewater State University men's track & field team during the opening day of the 2023 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Northeastern University.
DEDHAM, Mass. – Senior Corey Stalters (Norton, Mass.) and junior Thomas Barinelli (Tewksbury, Mass.) earned All-NEICAAA honors to lead the Bridgewater State University men's track & field team on Friday during the opening day of the 2023 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Northeastern University.
Stalters placed fifth in the javelin with a toss of 200 feet, seven inches (61.14m).
Barinelli placed sixth in the long jump with a career-best leap of 23 feet, 0.75 inches (7.03m).
Sophomore Chigozie Adigwe (Lowell, Mass.) placed fifth in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 14.57 seconds to advance to Saturday's finals.
Barinelli also posted a time of 15.39 second to finish 22nd in the preliminaries of the 110 hurdles.
Freshman Chris Beaulieu (Monson, Mass.) finished ninth in the long jump with a career-best mark of 22 feet, 5.75 inches (6.85m), while senior Blake Kerwin (Rehoboth, Mass.) was 16th in the long jump (21'7.50"/6.59m).
Freshman Michael Neitlich (Middleboro, Mass.) checked in at 21st in the preliminaries of the 400-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 56.40 seconds.
The Bears are in 12th place (7 pts.) after day one of the two-day championship meet which features team from all three NCAA divisions in New England.
Day two of the NEICAAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will get underway tomorrow morning at ten.
