Men's Track Places Fourth at MASCAC Championships

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Bridgewater State University Bears placed fourth at the MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Fitchburg State University last Saturday.

The Bears posted a team score of 75 points to finish behind meet champion Westfield State (249 pts), Fitchburg State (126 pts.) and Worcester State (115 pts.).  MASCAC results were not made official until Thursday morning due to scoring errors in a number of the field events.

Junior Jeff Sousa (North Dighton, Mass.) placed second in the 10,000-meter run and qualified for the Division III New England Championships with a time of 33:14.30.  Freshman Joseph Danner-Hicks (Bedford, Mass.) also qualified for DIII New Englands as he placed fourth at the meet with a time of 11.33 seconds.
