Three Records Fall as Men's Track & Field Competes at Harvard Open

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Three indoor school records fell as the Bridgewater State University men's track and field team competed at the Harvard Open on Saturday in their final meet before the winter break.

Sophomore Felix Mensah (Lowell, Mass.) eclipsed the BSU mark in the long jump and placed seventh in the event with a leap of 21"4.75".  He broke the previous record of 21'2.50" set by Craig Johnson in 2001 and equaled by Alex Webley in 2005.  Mensah also finished 12th in the 60-meter dash (7.14 seconds).

Classmate Stephan Cawley (Dedham, Mass.) wrote his name into the Bears' track record book as he posted a distance of 47'5.25" in the shot put, breaking Chris Clark's 2007 mark of 47'2.50".  Cawley finished fourth at the meet and also qualified for the ECAC Division III Championship meet.

Freshman Joshua Danner-Hicks (Haverhill, Mass.) set the BSU school mark and placed tenth in the triple jump with a leap of 44'2.00".  He broke Mensah's previous standard of 42'11.50" recorded last season.
