Four Bears Earn All-Little East Men's Tennis Honors

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Four members of the Bridgewater State University men's tennis team earned All-Little East Conference honors this spring.

Junior Adam Beatrice (Rockland, Mass.) was selected to the first team in both singles and doubles.

Sophomore Khiem Nguyen (Burlington, Vt.) made the all-conference first team in doubles and the second team in singles.

Junior Tom Ayson (Plymouth, Mass.) was chosen to the second team in both singles and doubles and earned a spot on the conference's Sportsmanship Team.

Sophomore Anthony Lucas (Weymouth, Mass.) made the all-conference second team in doubles.

BSU went 8-5, including 4-1 in the Little East after winning the conference championship in 2024.

The Bears were the No. 2 seed in the tournament and defeated UMass Boston before losing to Rhode Island College, 5-1, in the final last Saturday.

Beatrice was the Little East Rookie of the Year in 2023 and made the first team in singles for a third straight season. He was also a first-team selection in doubles a year ago.

Beatrice was 3-2 in singles in the conference, 5-5 overall. In doubles, he was 4-1 in the Little East and 7-5 overall while playing with Nguyen, Ayson and senior Matthew Krampf (Littleton, Mass.).

Beatrice and Nguyen went 3-1 in the Little East and 5-2 overall in doubles.

Nguyen, a transfer from Vermont State Castleton, was the Bears' No. 3 singles player and went 5-1 in the conference and 6-6 overall.

He played doubles mostly with Beatrice and was 5-1 in the Little East and 8-5 overall.

Ayson, in his second season with the Bears, moved from No. 3 to No. 2 singles this season and was 4-2 in the Little East and 6-6 overall.

In doubles, he was 5-1 in the Little East and 9-4 overall and had the most success with Lucas. They were 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Last season, Ayson made the conference first team in doubles and the second team in singles.

Lucas paired with Ayson to tie for second on the team with six doubles victories. He transferred to BSU from Endicott College.
