Bio
Joe DePerry joined the Bridgewater State University men's and women's swimming and diving coaching staff as a volunteer assistant prior to the 2016-2017 season.
A Rhode Island native, Joe comes from an extensive background of swimming as he was a top New England swimmer for his entire career and also competed at the national level. Joe was a two-time Rhode Island Interscholastic Swimming Champion and a four-time Rhode Island Interscholastic All State Swimmer while attending Cumberland High School in Cumberland, Rhode Island. He was a swimmer for the Bears for his freshman year and part of his sophomore year before chronic injuries forced him to end a very successful 14-year competitive swimming career.
During his career, Joe was lucky to work with some of the top coaches in the area, some of those coaches are still very successful to this day. He brings all their knowledge of training, stroke technique, and mental development that swimmers need to advance to the next level. Joe also bring his passion and love of the sport to the team.
Joe currently resides in Attleboro, Massachusetts with his wife, Jessica.
