Kyle Sullivan Named MASCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior goalkeeper Kyle Sullivan been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior goalkeeper Kyle Sullivan has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Sullivan backstopped the Bears to a perfect 2-0 week as he notched a pair of shutouts with six saves, a 1.000 save percentage and a 0.00 goals against average. The Enfield, Connecticut product made three saves in a 2-0 shutout of Emerson and turned aside three shots in a 1-0 MASCAC road shutout of Westfield State.
In nine games this season, Sullivan is 5-4 with three shutouts and a 2.17 goals against average in 787 minutes of work. He has turned aside 22 shots and currently sports a .537 save percentage.
Sullivan currently leads the MASCAC in both wins and shutouts. He is also tied for first among the conference goaltending leaders in games played and ranks second in minutes played.
The MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week honor marks the first of Sullivan's career.
The BSU men's soccer team is currently 5-5 on the season and 3-1 in the MASCAC. The Bears host conference rival Worcester State University on Saturday at noon.
