Abbie Zuber Named MASCAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior midfielder Abbie Zuber has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week.

Zuber tallied four goals and two assists for 10 points in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears. The Westport, Massachusetts product notched the game-tying goal in the fourth quarter in the Bears' 2-1 MASCAC overtime win on the road over Fitchburg State University. She also recorded a hat trick and dished out a pair of assists in a dominant 10-1 conference victory over Salem State University.

Through six games this season, Zuber has recorded seven goals and four assist for 18 points. She currently ranks second in the MASCAC in both goals and scoring, and is tied for second in assists as well as tied for fifth in game-winning goals (1).

In 44 games (all starts) over her first three seasons with the Bears, Zuber has amassed 16 goals and 17 assists for 49 points. She is presently tied with Samantha Hayes (2015-18) for eighth place among the Bears' all-time assist leaders.

The MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week selection marks the first of Zuber's career.

The BSU field hockey team is currently 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears travel to Anna Maria College on Tuesday night for a seven o'clock game with the AMCATS.
