BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior kick returner Isaiah Wright has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Special Teams Player of the Week.
Wright averaged 22.5 yards on four kickoff returns with a long of 31 yards in the Bears' 41-21 MASCAC setback this past weekend to Plymouth State University.
Through three games this season, Wright is averaging 22.7 yards on seven kickoff returns. The Worcester, Massachusetts native currently ranks third in the MASCAC in kickoff return average and is fourth in kickoff return yards.
In 32 games over four seasons with the Bears, Wright has returned 42 kickoffs for 951 yards and two touchdowns as he is averaging 22.6 yards per return. Wright has also rushed for 1,057 yards and four touchdowns, and has 35 receptions for 186 yards.
The MASCAC Special Teams Player of the Week accolade marks the third of Wright's career as he also earned the honor twice in 2023.
The BSU football team is currently 1-2 on the season and 1-1 in the MASCAC. The conference schedule continues on Saturday when the Bears travel to Framingham State Universuty for a noontime game with the Rams.
