Football Ranked #1 in New England Division III Poll
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University Bears are the top ranked team in the first New England Division III Football Poll of the 2012 season.

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University Bears are the top ranked team in the first New England Division III Football Poll of the 2012 season.
The Bears received 12 of 20 first place votes and amassed 188 points to finish atop the poll. Salve Regina University is second with 171 points which includes four first place votes, while Norwich University (143 pts), Amherst College (126 pts) and Endicott College (98 pts) round out the top five.
Bridgewater is 3-0 to start a season for the first time since the 2005 campaign. The Bears edged Springfield College, 21-17, in the season-opener; downed UMass Dartmouth, 31-7, in the home opener on September 8th; and posted a 20-14 week three victory over Endicott College.
Bridgewater begins New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division play on Friday night when the Bears entertain defending Bogan Division champion Framingham State University at seven.
