Simard Captures Fourth Straight Little East Three-Meter Title

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Cailey Simard (Haverhill, Mass.) added another Little East Conference diving championship to her list of accomplishments.

Simard won her seventh Little East title on Thursday night with a score of 468.70 to take the 3-meter diving event at Babson College.

Simard swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving titles as a freshman, sophomore and junior with BSU and meet record performances.

A three-time Little East Diver of the Year, Simard will return to the board on Friday for the 1-meter preliminaries with the final on Saturday.

Three of Simard's BSU teammates placed second, third and fourth on the 3-meter board.

Sophomore Gianna Varady (Highland Park, N.J.), a transfer from Norwich University, was second with 411.15 points followed by junior Jillian Hallman (Raynham, Mass.) with 347.50 points and junior Ava Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) with 336.10 points.

Simard, Varady and Hallman garnered All-Little East accolades for their performances on the three-meter board.

Thursday was the first day of the Little East Swimming & Diving Championships.

The scene shifts to the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley, Mass., Friday-Sunday with preliminary events at 10 a.m. and the finals taking place at 6:30 the next two nights.
