Five Bears Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

BRIDGEWATER, Mass.  --  Five members of the Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team have been named to the 2025 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) NCAA Division III Academic Honor Roll.

BSU graduare student Riley Bina; seniors Chloe Bowman and Mya Dupuy; and juniors Ashley Silva and Meredith Sylvia are among the 1,284 student-athletes from 201 different Division III institutions to earn the accolade.

To be eligible for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students and have earned a cumulative academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or greater.

A native of Abington, Massachusetts, Bina currently sports a remarkable 3.90 GPA after her first year of grad school and is working towards a master's degree in educational leadership.

Bowman, who resides in Falmouth, Massachusetts, boasts a stellar 3.94 GPA as she graudated summa cum laude this past May with a degree in social work and psychology.

Dupuy, who hails from Middleboro, Massachusetts, graduated cum laude in May with a degree in exercise physiology. She checks in with a terrific 3.50 GPA.

A resident of Rowley, Massachusetts, Silva is a health science major and claims an impressive 3.90 GPA.

Sylvia, who calls South Dartmouth, Massachusetts home, is a physical education and coaching major with an excellent 3.50 GPA.

The BSU women's lacrosse team is also one of 383 schools from across Division I, II, III and the NAIA to be recognized as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the 2024-2025 academic year. The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by teams with cumulative grade point averages (GPA) of 3.2 or better for the academic year. The Bears recorded a team GPA of 3.45 in 2024-2025.
