BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore guard Reese Bartlett has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
A resident of Norwood, Massachusetts, Bartlett averaged 15.5 points, six rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears while shooting 41.2% (7-17) from the floor, 30% (3-10) from behind the arc and 82.4% (14-17) at the free throw line.
Bartlett notched 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, a steal and a blocked shot in a 73-66 MASCAC win over Westfield State; and career highs of 19 points and five assists to go along with eight rebounds and four steals in a 66-57 conference road victory over Framingham State.
Through 16 games this season, including 12 starts, Bartlett is averaging 6.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 31.4% (16-51) from behind the arc and 81% (17-21) at the free throw line. She currently ranks sixth in the MASCAC in three-point shooting.
The MASCAC weekly honor marks the first of Bartlett's career.
The BSU women's basketball team is currently 7-9 on the season and a perfect 6-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain conference rival Worcester State University on Wednesday evening at 5:30.
