Four Bears Named to CSC Academic All-District® One Softball Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior right fielder Victoria Becker, senior left fielder Makayla Ansell, junior pitcher Olivia Hargreaves and sophomore first baseman Isabel Bishop have been selected to the 2026 Academic All-District® One Division III Softball Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Becker, Ansell, Hargreaves and Bishop are four of 15 student-athletes from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to garner the honor. Becker is making her third straight appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® One Division III Softball Team, while Hargreaves is a two-time recipient.

The 2026 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director. A Student-athletes must have also competed in 90 percent of the team's games or started in at least 66 percent of the games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.  .

A native of Abington, Massachusetts, Becker graduated summa cum laude with a degree in health science. She recorded an outstanding 3.907 grade point average during her academic career. 

Becker batted .303 (89-294) in 132 games over four seasons in a BSU uniform with 18 doubles, four triples, four home runs, 35 walks, 57 runs and 27 RBI. She also stole 40 bases,  posted a .378 on base percentage as well as a .432 slugging percentage, and recorded ten outfield assists.

Becker earned All-MASCAC Second Team honors in 2024.

Ansell, who hails from Menifee, California, graduated cum laude with a degree in communication sciences and disorders. She boasts a terrific 3.579 GPA.

In 111 games over three seasons with the Bears, Ansell batted .335 (116-346) with four home runs, 23 doubles, seven triples, 15 walks, 21 stolen bases, 73 runs and 55 RBI. She also sports a careerr .477 slugging percentage as well as a .377 on base percentage and has six outfield assists.

Ansell garnered All-MASCAC First Team accolades in 2024.

Hargreaves hails from Weare, New Hampshire and is an accounting and finance major with an outstanding 3.918 GPA.

In 49 appearances (38 starts) in the circle over her first three seasons with the Bears, Hargreaves is 19-21 with 24 complete games, five shutouts and a save. She checks in with a 2.97 earned run average in 247 1/3 innings of work with 225 strikeouts.

Hargreaves was named to the All-MASCAC Second Team in 2025.

A Lynn, Massachusetts product, Bishop checks in with a 3.881 GPA and is majoring in criminal justice.

Bishop has played outstanding defense at first base as she has made just three errors and sports a .989 career fielding percentage in 56 games over her first two seasons at BSU. In 2026, Bishop committed just one error in 236 chances for an impressive .996 fielding percentage.

Becker, Ansell, Hargreaves and Bishop helped the BSU softball team post an 18-22 record in 2026 with an 8-8 conference mark.

Joining Becker, Ansell, Hargreaves and Bishop on the 2026 CSC Academic All-District® One Division III Softball Team from the MASCAC are Hannah Mitchem of MCLA; Westfield State's Rylie CamachoSarah Hough, Joss Mettey, Angelina Vartuli, and Hannah Wodecki; and Amanda Adamuska, Morgan Keefe, Emma LaPointPeyton Maloney and Bailey Tammaro of Worcester State.
