BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior centerfielder Alexandra Ruprecht has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week.
Ruprecht batted .500 (6-12) with three home runs, a double, four walks, eight runs scored, and eight RBI in a perfect 4-0 week for the Bears. The Kingston, Massachusetts native posted a .625 on base percentage and an impressive 1.333 slugging percentage.
Ruprecht went 5-for-6 with two home runs, a double, two walks, six runs and five RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Westfield State. She also homered, walked twice, scored two runs and drove in three in another sweep of the Owls.
In 20 games this season, Ruprecht is batting .400 (24-60) with four home runs, three doubles, a pair of stolen bases, 16 runs scored and 15 RBI.
Ruprecht is currently tied for the MASCAC lead in home runs and ranks fourth in both batting average and slugging percentage (.650), and fifth in total bases (39) and on base percentage (.455). She is also tied for sixth in the conference in hits, tied for seventh in runs and RBI, and tied for ninth in walks (6) and extra base hits (7).
In 108 games over four seasons with the Bears, Ruprecht has posted a career batting average of .319 (106-332) with eight home runs, 19 doubles, 60 runs scored and 72 RBI. She also has a career .455 slugging percentage and a .349 on base percentage.
The MASCAC Player of the Week honor marks the second of Ruprecht’s career.
The BSU softball team is currently 12-7-1 on the season and 5-2-1 in the MASCAC. The Bears travel to Fitchburg State University on Friday afternoon for a two o'clock MASCAC doubleheader with the Falcons.
