BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Kevin McBirney has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

McBirney finished 74th out of a stout field of 277 runners at the Connecticut College Invitational held this past weekend at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut. The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts native covered the eight-kilometer layout in a time of 25:42.10.

The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the eighth of McBirney's career as he also earned the honor four times during the 2023 campaign.

Following a weekend off, the BSU men's cross country team will compete at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Fitchburg State University and held at the Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster, Massachusetts.
