Corey Stalters Named MASCAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University graduate student Corey Stalters has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Stalters captured the meet title in the javelin this past weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at UMass Amherst. The Norton, Massachusetts product placed first in the javelin with a toss of 224 feet (68.29m) as he became the first member of the BSU men's track and field team to win an event at the NEICAAA Championships since Stephen Wahome (10,000m) in 2013.

Stalters is currently ranked second in all of Division III in the javelin.

The MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week honor marks the 17th of Stalter's career and 13th outdoor distinction.

Several members of the BSU outdoor track & field teams will compete on Thursday afternoon at the MIT Final Qualifier.
