Corey Stalters Named MASCAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University graduate student Corey Stalters has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Stalters won the meet title and broke his own school record in the javelin last Friday at the Emory Thrills in the Hills in Atlanta, Georgia with an impressive toss of 224 feet, five inches (68.40m). The Norton, Massachusetts prodiuct eclipsed his previous mark of 218 feet, 11 inches (66.74m) set back in 2022 at the NEICAAA Championships.

Stalters is currently the top ranked javelin thrower in all of Division III.

The MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week honor marks the 14th of Stalter's career and tenth outdoor distinction.

The outdoor season continues for the men's track & field team on Saturday as the Bears will compete at the Amherst Spring Fling. A few javelin throwers will compete on Friday at the Regis Spring Classic.
