BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third straight week and fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Alex Huynh has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week.
Huynh garnered All-New England honors in both the long jump and high jump this past weekend at the 2025 Division III New England Championships held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
Huynh placed sixth in the long jump with a leap of 23 feet (7.01m) and seventh in the high jump with a mark of six feet, 2.75 inches (1.90m) as he helped the Bears finish 11th in the team standings at the meet with 23 points.
Huynh currently ranks 36th in all of Division III in the high jump (6'6.75"/2.00m) and 42nd in the long jump (23'4"/7.11m).
The MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor marks the 12th of the academic year for Huynh who also garnered the accolade eight times during the indoor season.
Qualifying members of the BSU men's outdoor track & field team will compete on Friday and Saturday at the NEICAAA Championships hosted by UMass Amherst.
