AMHERST, Mass. -- Sophomore Jasen Jean-Louis (Framingham, Mass.) had the top finish for the Bridgewater State University men's track & field team at the Amherst Spring Fling.
Jean-Louis was second in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 5.25 inches (6.23m) to place behind only Owen Hass of RPI (21'1.25"/6.43m).
The meet was held on the campus of Amherst College at Pratt Field at Lehrman Stadium Saturday.
BSU also had two others join Jean-Louis in the top 10 in the long jump.
Sophomore Matthew Mooney (Douglas, Mass.) was fourth with a jump of 20 feet, 1.75 inches (6.14m) while junior Chris Beaulieu (Monson, Mass.) was 10th with a jump of 19 feet, 3.50 inches (5.88m).
Senior Chigozie Adigwe (Lowell, Mass.) was third in the 110-meter hurdles and fourth in the 400-meter hurdles.
Adigwe's posted a time of 16.12 seconds in the 110 hurdles while BSU junior Ryker King (Wareham, Mass.) was fourth in 16.21 seconds.
Adigwe finished the 400 hurdles in 58.70 seconds with teammate Nathan Branco (Fairhaven, Mass.), a sophomore, winding up fifth in 59.23 seconds.
Graduate student Mason Matias (New Bedford, Mass.) was fourth in the 200 and fifth in the 100.
Matias' time in the 200 was 22.89 seconds and he ran the 100 in 11.48.
Junior Dasean Peters-Wolfe (Mansfield, Mass.) also placed in the top ten in the 100 for the Bears as he was seventh in 11.51, while freshman Joshua Cardichon (Brockton, Mass.) finished in the top ten in the 200 with a ninth-place time of 23.22 seconds. Both events had a field of 23 sprinters.
Freshman Drew Alves (Taunton, Mass.) finished eighth in the high jump with a leap of five feet, ten inches (1.78m).
The BSU Bears Invitational will take place on Friday starting at 10 a.m. in the next-to-last meet before the MASCAC Championships on April 25.
