CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Senior Jason Dann (Reading, Mass.) broke his own school record in the hammer throw as several members of the Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track & field team competed on Thursday evening at the MIT Final Qualifier.
Dann placed fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 177 feet, three inches (54.02) as he eclipsed his previous program mark of 174 feet (53.04m) set earlier this season at the Tufts Sunshine Classic. Dann also finished fifth in the discus throw with a PR of 154 feet, seven inches (47.11m).
Junior Chigozie Adigwe (Lowell, Mass.) place fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a finals time of 15.24 seconds. Adigwe posted a time of 14.98 seconds in the preliminaries.
Senior Thomas Barinelli (Tewksbury, Mass.) checked in at fifth in the long jump (22'5"/6.83m) and seventh in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles (15.44).
Junior Kevin McBirney (East Bridgewater, Mass.) was the seventh runner to cross the finish line in the 800-meter run (1:53.31).
