SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Several members of the Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track & field team competed on Saturday at a non-scoring dual meet hosted by Springfield College.
Sophomore Dimetri Morris (North Andover, Mass.) placed first in the 110-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 14.99 seconds. Morris currently ranks 34th in all of Division III in the event.
Senior John Lara (South Boston, Mass.) also placed first in a track event with a time of 53.38 seconds in the 400-meter dash.
In the field events, sophomore Exondus Barnes (East Providence, R.I.) grabbed top honors in both the high jump (6'2"/1.88m) and the long jump (21'11.5"/6.69m). Senior Joseph Zingarelli (North Kingston, R.I.) rounded out the Bears' event winners with a first-place showing in the pole vault (13'7.25"/4.15m).
Next weekend, qualifying members of the BSU men's outdoor track & field team will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships held at Veterans Stadium in New Britain, Connecticut.
