Men's Track & Field Competes at Wesleyan Invitational

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Bridgewater State University men's indoor track & field team competed at the non-scoring Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Cameron Williamson (North Easton, Mass.) captured the meet title in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 43 feet, 11.75 inches (13.40m). Williamson qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the event.

Sophomore Jamie Carlson (Maynard, Mass.) place fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 39 feet, 9.75 inches (12.13m).

Junior Brayden Hollowell (Nashua, N.H.) finished third in the shot put with a career-best toss of 47 feet, 11 inches (14.60m).

Junior Austin James (Mansfield, Mass.) and freshman Nick Johnson (Marstons Mills, Mass.) placed sixth (44'0.75"/13.43m) and seventh (42'4.75"/12.92m), respectively, in the shot put. Johnson also finished sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 44 feet, 3.5 inches (13.50m).

Sophomore Alex Goss (North Dighton, Mass.) and freshmen Lamont Haynes (Boston, Mass.), Trevor Wysong (Taunton, Mass.) and Joseph Celia (Bridgewater, Mass.) all placed fifth in their respective events. Goss in the 60-meter dash (7.31), Haynes in the finals of the 200-meter dash (23.24), Wysong in the 3,000-meter run (9:11.26) and Celia in the 5,000-meter run (16:42.58).

Freshman Joshua Higgins (Fitchburg, Mass.) finished sixth in the 400-meter dash (51.97) and eighth in the mile run (4:44.30). 

Next Saturday, the BSU indoor track & field teams will compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships hosted by the University of Southern Maine.
