Stephen Wahome Named MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track Co-Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University junior Stephen Wahome has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Outdoor Track Co-Athlete of the Week.  Wahome shares the weekly honor along with Westfield State junior Brendan Corcoran.

Wahome finished second in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 31:52.29 at the Stonehill Skyhawk Invitational this past weekend. The Lowell, Massachusetts native also qualified for three postseason meets (DIII New England, ECAC, NEICAAA) in the event.

Earlier this season at the BSU Bears Invitational, Wahome also qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the 5,000-meter run.

In three years on the BSU men’s track & field team, Wahome has set two individual school indoor marks (3,000-meter run, 5,000-meter run).  He has also been a part of three relay records during the indoor (4x800, DMR) and outdoor (4x800) seasons.

The outdoor season continues for the BSU track and field teams on Saturday as the Bears will compete at the MIT Invitational.
