Men's Track & Field Competes at Roxbury CC Tiger Open

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University men's indoor track and field team competed at the Roxbury Community College Tiger Open held on Saturday evening at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Junior Felix Mensah (Lowell, Mass.) captured third place in the 55-meter dash and qualified for the New England Division III Championships in the event with a time of 6.71 seconds.

Sophomore Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) grabbed third place in the one-mile run and also qualified for DIII New Englands with a time of 4:22.77.

Junior Michael McPherson (Mansfield, Mass.) and freshman Christian Lavoie (Marion, Mass.) finished second and third respectively in the shot put.  McPherson posted a distance of 47 feet, 11.00 inches (14.60 meters), while Lavoie checked in at 44 feet, 11.75 inches (13.71 meters).  Lavioe qualified for DIII New Englands with his put.

The BSU indoor track and field teams are back in action on Saturday, January 21st when they compete at the Wesleyan Invitational.
