NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track and field team competed at the rain-soaked Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday.
The Bears placed 11th overall in the team standings with a score of 28 points. Coast Guard Academy was the meet champion with a total of 141 points.
Freshman Joshua Danner-Hicks (Bedford, Mass.) captured first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.45 seconds, while sophomore Felix Mensah (Lowell, Mass.) also placed third in the event (11.57 seconds).
Freshman Andy Sukeforth (Middleboro, Mass.) added a tenth place showing in the 800-meter run (2:02.79), while junior Andrew Corley (Milton, Mass.) finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (59.62 seconds).
Sophomore Joshua Wakefield (North Dighton, Mass.) placed sixth in the hammer throw (133'0") and seventh in the discus throw (112'6").
