Men's Track Places Third at MASCAC Championships

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College men's outdoor track and field team placed third at the MASCAC Championships held at Westfield State College over the weekend.

BSC tallied 80 points for the meet finishing behind conference champion Westfield State (275 points) and Fitchburg State (162 points).

Senior Avery Bouchard (Fall River, MA) was the lone MASCAC champion for the Bears as he placed first in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:11.96. It marked the fourth time that Bouchard captured the MASCAC title in the event.

Senior Brian Stewart (Scituate, MA) was second in the 10,000-meter run (34:16.70), while sophomore Ryan D'Arcangelo (Norfolk, MA) finished second in the 1,500-meter run (4:08.82).

Also posting second place finishes were freshman Bill Taft (Hanson, MA) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:02.83), junior Kevin White (Swansea, MA) in the 110-meter hurdles (:16.42), and junior Nick Ferrara (Swansea, MA) in the high jump (6'1.25").
