Seven Bears Named to LEC Spring All-Academic Team

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Seven members of the Bridgewater State University men's tennis team have been named to the Spring 2025 Little East Conference (LEC) All-Academic Team as announced by LEC Assistant Commissioner, Darryl Konicki.

To be named the LEC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year prior to the start of the competitive season.

The seven student-athletes from the BSU men's tennis team who achieved the honor are seniors Matthew Krampf (Littleton, Mass.) and Kyle Robbins (Cataumet, Mass.); junior Jack George (Plymouth, Mass.); sophomores Anthony Lucas (Weymouth, Mass.), Calvin Martindale (Sudbury, Mass.) and Khiem Nguyen (Burlington, Vt.); and freshman Tyler Rocchio (Attleboro, Mass.).

Krampf graduated last month with a degree in geological science while Robbins earned a degree in criminal justice.

George is a special education major while Lucas and Nguyen are majoring in communications, Martindale in business and Rocchio in physical therapy.

Krampf, Robbins, George, Lucas, Martindale, Nguyen and Rocchio helped the BSU men's tennis team post an 8-5 record in 2025 including a 5-1 mark against Little East opponents. Seeded second in the LEC Tournament, the Bears notched a 5-0 semifinal round victory over #3 UMass Boston before dropping a 5-1 decision to top-seeded Rhode Island College in the tournament title match.

The Little East Conference began honoring an all-academic team during the 2007-08 academic year. While the majority of Bridgewater State varsity squads are members of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), four BSU teams called the Little East home in 2024-2025. Women's tennis competed in the Little East in the fall, the men's and women's swimming and diving teams during the winter season, and men's tennis in the spring.
