BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Two members of the Bridgewater State University men's tennis team have been named to the Spring 2012 Little East Conference (LEC) All-Academic Team as announced by LEC Media Relations Director, Jack Holleran.

To earn a spot on the all-academic teams a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3, and be a full-time member of a varsity team.

Receiving the honor for the Bears are sophomores Jesse Gotlib (Dartmouth, Mass.) and Adam Ugrinow (Charlton, Mass.).  Gotlib is working towards a degree in Mathematics, while Ugrinow is majoring in Management.  The pair helped the BSU men’s tennis team post a 9-6 record in 2012 with a 4-2 mark in Little East play.

The Little East Conference began honoring an all-academic team during the 2007-08 academic year.  While the majority of Bridgewater State varsity squads are members of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), four BSU teams call the Little East home.  Field hockey and women’s tennis compete in the Little East in the fall, women’s swimming and diving in the winter and men’s tennis in the spring.
