PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- The Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team concluded its dual meet season with a victory Saturday afternoon.
The Bears, who captured top honors in ten events on the afternoon, tuned up for the Little East Championships with a 168-79 win over Plymouth State University.
Senior Robbie Soucy (Frye Island, Maine) finished first in a pair of events for BSU.
Soucy won the 1-meter diving event with 149.75 points and the 3-meter diving event with 178.15 points.
Freshman Dylan Kelley (Foxborough, Mass.) was first in the 200 freestyle in 2:05.08 and second in the 100 freestyle in 54.56 seconds.
Freshman Caleb Perron (Belchertown, Mass.) won the 1,000 freestyle in 11:21.46 and took third in the 100 backstroke in 1:04.84.
Freshman Matthew Jo (Tewksbury, Mass.) was the winner in the 200 individual medley in 2:10.07.
Sophomore Drew Lawrence (Winchendon, Mass.) took the 50 backstroke in 28.20 seconds and junior Ryan McKenzie (Charlton, Mass.) was first in the 50 breaststroke in 29.66 seconds.
In the 500 freestyle, junior Oliver Taradash (Dartmouth, Mass.) was first in 5:45.35.
Two BSU relay teams contributed to the victory by placing first.
The 200 medley relay team of sophomore Jirat Saengthong (Watertown, Mass.), junior Richard Palanza (Mansfield, Mass.), junior Cooper Sever (Edgewater, Md.) and Jo won in 1:50.58.
The 200 freestyle team featuring Palanza, senior Thomas Roch (Chelmsford, Mass.), Lawrence and sophomore Dane Connor (Andover, Mass.) was first in 1:35.00.
Srebnick was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:04.00 and second in the 50 backstroke in 29.22 seconds.
Senior Owen Lasbury-Casey (Mansfield, Mass.) was second in the 1,000 freestyle in 11:49.31 and second in the 200 individual medley in 2:29.16.
Sophomore Logan Richard (Lowell, Mass.) had a pair of third-place finishes with a time of 13:36.28 in the 1,000 freestyle and a time of 6:32.04 in the 500 freestyle.
Stringfellow placed second in the 200 freestyle in 2:05.74.
Also finishing second for the Bears were freshman Oleksandr Lysyi (Boston, Mass.) in the 50 freestyle in 25.16 and freshman Hunter Rice (Canton, Mass.) in the 500 freestyle in 6:00.89.
BSU is idle until the Little East Championships, which take place in Wellesley Feb. 13-16. The Bears have won the title three straight years.
